Full members of the Property Care Association, which is the only trade body for damp proofing, wood preservation, structural waterproofing, flood restoration and structural maintenance www.property-care.org Noted for its training and technical expertise the PCA incorporates the British Wood Preserving And Damp Proofing Association, which has been in formation for more than 75 years. Its members are trusted because they are part of a respected Trade Association with exceptionally high performance standards, conduct and codes of ethics. They are also able to offer insurance backed guarantees (GPI) giving the customer total peace of mind.

An ongoing audit of member companies, ensuring that all aspects of their businesses operate to the highest standards. This involves checking company systems & procedures, health & safety practices and staff development and training programmes. A regular programme of site inspections to which all contractor member companies are subject. PCA appoints an independent inspector to visit sites and confirm that good practice is maintained in clients’ domestic and commercial premises.


As a founder member of Trustmark, PCA members are validated through this government-backed scheme, which declares that all contractors working in the domestic environment are trustworthy and competent. Supporting opportunities for Continuing Professional Development to enable members to maintain and develop their knowledge and skills in waterproofing, damp control and timber treatment.

Full members of TRUST MARK www.trustmark.org.uk – Trustmark is the scheme supported by the Government, consumer groups and building industry to help members of the public find reputable firms to do repair, maintenance and improvement work inside and outside a home. In order to support this important government initiative the PCA become one of the founder scheme operators.

Because of the high standards of service and quality that is expected from PCA members we were then able to extend the offer of Trustmark accreditation to all members. In order for the PCA to be awarded a Trustmark operators licence, they were subjected to an extensive, detailed vetting and certification process. This regulation of PCA’s activities is ongoing and involves annual inspections from the Trustmark quality manager. Trustmark is an independent initiative created jointly by Government, industry and consumer groups. Trustmark is designed to give increased consumer protection to people having work done in and around their homes.

Trustmark provides a single logo to look out for – a logo you can trust. Trustmark registered firms are reputable trades people. PCA is committed to Trustmark in order to promote and support its members and their customers with the continued support of the Government, Trading Standards and other consumer groups. It will mean that consumers will never have to run the risk of hiring a rogue trader or cowboy builder.
